Porcelain Proteas Bud Vase
A porcelain bud vase made from slip casted porcelain and decorated with green & dark pink porcelain slip. Protea flowers detail in sgraffito technique.
Inspiration for this design comes from walking fynbos routes in the Overberg region, Western Cape, South Africa where my family resides. Proteas can reach a height of over 2 meters creating extraordinary flowery forest like scenery.
Fynbos (/ˈfeɪnbɒs/; Afrikaans pronunciation: [ˈfɛinbos] meaning fine-leaved plants) is a small belt of natural shrubland or heathland vegetation located in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa.
Glaze is dinnerware and dishwasher safe although handmade ceramics prefer a hand wash. All my materials are lead free.
